Y Camp is an ideal setting for people to
interact with nature and the outdoors.

Environmental Programs
Y Camp’s Environmental Education Programs are used to enrich the classroom curriculum as well as reinforce literacy, math, speech, music, art and physical education. The residential program has the greatest impact on retention with students spending 3 to 5 days at camp. Teachers can look at the programs offered and choose classes that fit their curriculum. Leadership Program
The Des Moines Y Camp Leadership program develops problem-solving skills, cooperation, risk-taking and trust. While physical accomplishment is part of the program, the overall emphasis is on instilling self-confidence and teamwork.

The Leadership Program revolves around three steps: Communities focuses on problem-solving, risk-taking, cooperation, failure and success; Low Ropes explores goal setting, perceived risk and comfort zones; and High Ropes tackles personal achievement. (more)
