Summer Camp Director
Trevor started out as a camper at Y Camp in 2005 while growing up in West Des Moines, Iowa, and eventually joined staff in 2014 as a cabin leader! From there, Trevor worked four more summers at Y Camp in a variety of roles while studying Leisure, Youth, and Human Services at the University of Northern Iowa. It was during these years that he developed a love for seeing campers learn and grow in the valley, as well as watching summer staff hone their leadership skills and realize their ability to make impacts on the families they serve. After graduating from UNI, Trevor was living in Fort Dodge and worked as a full-time youth pastor for middle school and high school students before returning to Y Camp to direct the Overnight Camp and Day Camp programs that run each summer. When he’s not working, you can often find Trevor going on long runs outside or spending intentional time nurturing his relationship with Jesus Christ. He also has a new puppy named Sadie! You can reach out to Trevor if you have any questions about Overnight or Day Camp, our Leadership Development Program, or what it’s like to come to camp for the first time... He remembers that!
Fun Fact: Trevor was so scared to come to camp his first summer, his grandpa had to bribe him by offering him $1 a day for every day he chose to stay at camp. Guess that paid off!
